Renowned painter Abburi passes away
Visakhapatnam: Well-known artist Abburi Gopalakrishna, passed away at his MVP Colony residence here on Tuesday. He was 80 and survived by wife Prameela and son Hariskrishna. He was suffering from illness for sometime.

He was born to Ramakrishna Rao and Rukmanamma in the city on March 2, 1937. After obtaining a fine arts degree, he began his career as sarpanch, held the post of district registrar in Guntur and moved to Hyderabad to become a curator of Natonal History Museum.
He resigned to the post to become principal of Natya Vidyalaya in Hyderabad.
Apart from painting, he was also known for writing which brought him close to Sri Sri and Dr C Narayana Reddy.
He will be cremated after his son arrives from Switzerland on Wednesday. His eyes have been donated to Moshin Eye Bank as he wished.
