Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu instructed the officials to supply purified drinking water for Uddanam village and other seven mandals in Srikakulam district from March 1.

It may be noted that the kidney problems of Uddanam villagers came to light after film hero Pavan Kalyan visited the village.

Then the government had also reacted positively and assured some help for victims. Now the government has finalised a plan to supply drinking water from March 1.

Reviewing the NTR Jalasiri programme with officials here on Tuesday, he said the government would identify the fluoride prone areas and provide purified drinking water totally in those particular villages.

The water is polluted from the mining operations he said and asked the officials to supply pure water in the mining areas also.

Besides this, the CM directed the officials to identify villages with drinking water scarcity and take steps for supplying drinking water via water tankers.

The officials were instructed to prepare action plan for filling the reservoirs based on their capacity and present water reserves.

On this occasion, the CM announced 1.20 lakh bores have been allotted for second phase Jalasiri programme. Apart from this, the government made plans to dig 30,000 wells. He asked the officials to geo tag all the details online.
