Civil defence training must for all, says Urban SP

Tirupati: Urban SP R Jayalakshmi gave a call to residents of pilgrim city to undergo civil defence training. The SP inaugurated the four-day training for residents at Armed Reserve Police Grounds here on Wednesday. The master trainees from National Defence College (NDC), Nagpur will be imparting skills to civilians in civil defence techniques.
Addressing the volunteers, the SP stated that everyone should know the modules of elementary precautionary steps during natural disasters. She strongly said that elementary precautions in fire safety will increase their survival chances during fire mishaps. Nikilesh Viday, a representative of the NDC said that they are giving training to local volunteers on the instructions of the Ministry of Home affairs.
He stated that the Centre had decided to conduct training modules to civilians across the country on disaster management, paramedical help, crowd management and immediate response techniques during road and rail accidents. East DSP Murali Krishna told to The Hans India that special training to volunteers on disaster management will be helpful in providing volunteer services to manage heavy rush of devotees during annual Brahmotsavams. The DSP said that the training programme will conclude on February 5.
