Visakhapatnam: The Income Tax Department is hosting the 30th Central Revenue Sports and Cultural Board (CRSCB) South Zone Cultural Meet 2016-17 here at the Vuda Children’s Arena on February 3 and 4 to tap the hidden talents of department personnel in events like dance, drama, music and folk songs.

Disclosing details here on Wednesday, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax Chidara Omkareshwar told reporters that teams from the Central revenue departments of Income Tax, Central Excise, Customs and Service Tax from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Goa will be participating in the event.

He said the events include music, instrumental, Carnatic- light and classical, solo and group dance, drama in regional, English and Hindi languages besides group folk songs.

The zonal level winning teams will take part in the All India level competitions.

Omkareshwar said that Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command Vice-Admiral H C S Bisht will inaugurate the event at 9 am on February 3 and the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry who is also the Chairman of CRSCB South Zone A K Srivastava will preside over.
