Kadapa: Opposition parties and trade unions have described the Union Budget as pro-corporate and against the interests of small and marginal farmers. Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has presented the Union Budget in Lok Sabha on Wednesday. LIC Employees Union leader L Raghunatha Reddy described merger of Railway Budget with the Union Budget as a historical mistake.

He criticised the Central government for not mentioning about allocation of funds and projects to districts of Andhra Pradesh. He slammed the BJP-led NDA government for not giving more tax exemptions to salaried class. Meanwhile, people of the district were disappointed with no mention of setting up steel plant, sanctioning of funds to railway line between Kadapa-Bengaluru and Krishnapatnam Port-Obulavaripalli.
