The Hyderabad edition of the sixth edition of ‘Citi NCPA Aadi Anant’ concert will feature a delightful journey from ‘Baithak to Bollywood’ with renowned playback singer Shankar Mahadevan and group that will perform at Shilpakala Vedia on February 10.

The Hyderabad edition of the sixth edition of ‘Citi NCPA Aadi Anant’ concert will feature a delightful journey from ‘Baithak to Bollywood’ with renowned playback singer Shankar Mahadevan and group that will perform at Shilpakala Vedia on February 10.

The festival, which celebrates the ‘guru-shishya’ heritage of Indian music, began in Pune in November 2016. Travelling across Chennai, Mumbai and Bengaluru it will make its stop in the city before its finale in Ahmedabad on February 24.

Speaking about the event, Dr Suvarnalata Rao, Head Programming –Indian Music said, “Through this festival we are bringing together a bright amalgamation of rich artistic legacies existing in the country. In a bid to uphold the rich Guru Shishya tradition of the country, Aadi Anant is an endeavour for the current generation to view and nurture creative excellence belonging to an eternal stream of time and knowledge.”

The concert will feature Raga, Tala and Bandish, the three pillars of Indian music by Mahadevan and his group in the form of ‘Baithak’, which is a collage of genres comprising those associated with intimate small gathering of connoisseurs as well as popular forms favored by masses at large.
