Chittoor: Zilla Parishad (ZP) Chairperson Girvani Chandra Prakash said that the Union Budget including Railway Budget presented by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in the Lok Sabha has fulfilled the aspirations of people. The ZP chief stated that Jaitley provided more allocations to women and farmers in the Union Budget.
Speaking to The Hans India here on Wednesday, Girvani has appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving priority to women empowerment. The ZP chief welcomed the Centre’s decision to sanction maternity leave to working women for 24 weeks and financial assistance of Rs 6,000 to the pregnant women.
She termed Special Category Status demand of opposition parties as a closed chapter. She exuded confidence of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu taking measures for providing water for drinking and irrigation needs through Handri-Neeva Sujala Sravanthi project by March.
