Amaravati: The final designs of Amaravati administrative city will be finalised on February 22. Master architects of London, Norman Foster, communicated to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to this effect on Thursday.

Reviewing the Amaravati capital construction works and plans at Interim Secretariat here on Thursday, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu asked the officials to speed up the capital construction works for completing it by 2019.

He said th State government will enter into an MoU with National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for Outer Ring Road (ORR) project on
February 28.

Reviewing the capital designs with Norman Posters Company through video conference, Naidu suggested to them to make designs by taking local heritage and culture into consideration.

The government would not compromise on quality of Amaravati, he said and asked the officials to work with the designers for finalising the best designs.

The administrative building plans should be innovative and new in the world, he said, and asked the designers to prepare best designs on par with other top cities.

He also said that designs should be prepared for Amaravati capital city to enable it being at four degrees lower temperature compared to normal temperatures. He suggested to the officials to involve students and public in making the designs.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that six national and international reputed education institutions would start their branches in Amaravati capital city. One five star, one four star and four three star hotels would come up in the city.

India’s biggest convention centre also would be set up in the capital. The Stadium Arena Company has come forwarded to start sports management school. Besides, Shilparamam, library, museum would also be set up, he revealed.

He asked the officials to prepare sports city plan for the successful conducting of 2019 national games. On the other hand, the Chief Minister also reviewed the housing project of employees.

He said the government would construct housing project for employees and heads of departments in the Amaravati capital city with cost of Rs 4,500 crore.

He instructed the officials to take alternative traffic plans in view of metro railway project.
