Rajamahendravaram: The Minister for Child Welfare and Mines, Peethala Sujatha said that the Women Parliamentary meet would be held for the first time in the State during February 10-12.

Rajamahendravaram: The Minister for Child Welfare and Mines, Peethala Sujatha said that the Women Parliamentary meet would be held for the first time in the State during February 10-12.

The conference to be conducted at Pavithra Sangham at Vijayawada would see the participation of 12,000 people all over the country. The conference would be presided over by the AP Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad, said Peethala Sujatha.

The conference would stress on the women’s development in all spheres of life on par with men. MPs and MLAs from all over the country would take part in the conference besides the ZP chairpersons, Mayors, ZPTCs and MPTCS, added the Minister.

Earlier, the Minister visited Balasadanam and interacted with students.
Speaking on the occasion, Peethala Sujatha said that the steps were being taken to strengthen balasadanams sponsored by the Centre under the Integrated Child Protection Scheme.

She further said that anganwadi centres would also be strengthened and nutritious food will be supplied to students. Soon new buildings would be constructed in place of dilapidated balasadanams, said the Minister.

The Ministry of Finance has been requested to allocate more funds for this purpose. To press for the case, MPS, MLAs and Mayors too would be asked to impress on the Finance Ministry to allocate more funds, said the Minister.

City Mayor Pantam Rajani Sesha Sai and City MLA Dr Akula Satyannarayana accompanied the Minister.
