Tirupati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will be inaugurating the 91st general body meeting of Association of Indian Universities (AIU) at Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) in Tirupati on February 5.

Speaking to the media here on Friday, SVU Vice-Chancellor A Damodaram said that more than 250 Vice-Chancellors from all over India will be participating in the prestigious conclave being organised by SVU.

He stated that the theme of the conference is ‘celebrating success of higher education: accomplishments and achievements in post-independent era’.

The VC said that he himself will have the privilege of rendering the welcome address highlighting the outcome of the meet presided by AIU president by Prof DS Chauhan.

He stated that the Association of Commonwealth Universities Deputy Secretary General Prof Johan Kirland and Deputy Minister of European Union Cesare Onestini will address the gathering after the inauguration of meeting.

The VC said that the first technical session on ‘Changing landscape of internationalisation of higher education’ will be presented by Dr Viday Yeravadekar, senior director of Symbiosis International University at Pune.

In the afternoon, the VC stated that DS Chauhan will chair an interaction session in which international delegates and heads of apex educational bodies will take part.

On the second day, three technical sessions will be held on the themes namely ‘Higher education governance: Policies and sustained systemic reforms, curricular & pedagogical innovations and leveraging technology in higher education’.

Each session will have a chairperson, lead speaker and panel of speakers, explained Damodaram. SVU Rector Prof Macha Bhaskar, Registrar Prof Devarajula Naidu and EC member Guruprasad were present.
