Kurnool: The Mantralayam police arrested three persons out of four on the charges of cheating the public with fancy schemes.

The police presented the accused before the media in the presence of Superintendent of Police (SP) Ake Ravi Krishna at Ved Vyas Auditorium here on Friday.

Addressing a press conference, Ravi Krishna said that four accused S Rathnaiah, P Raghavendra, J Chandrasekhar and Rajasekhar have cheated the public with fancy schemes in the name of lucky dip.

The four persons used to collect cash from the public wooing them with attractive prizes through lucky dip.

They have established a shop in the name of Sri Sri Lakshmi Narashimha Enterprises Lucky Dip at Kosigi without obtaining valid license from the government to run the business.

After collecting the amount from the public, the accused neither conducted the lucky dips nor gave the assured household articles.

Suspecting the motive of organisers, one Vagaruru Aroni lodged a complaint with the police against the accused, the SP said. Based on the complaint, the police took the three accused into custody at Suguru cross road on Friday.

The SP said that the fourth accused Rajasekhar is at large. The police seized Rs 6.48 lakh cash and articles worth Rs 6.28 lakh from them. Adoni DSP Kolli Srinivas and Mantralayam Circle Inspector
K Nageswara Rao were present.
