Visakhapatnam: Panchayat Raj Minister Ch Ayyanna Patrudu called upon the students to participate in all rural enrichment government
programmes like Swachh Bharat, Neeru-Chettu, Clean and Green, Badi Pilustondi and implementation of cashless transactions prioritising
regular academics simultaneously.

Addressing a public meeting after participating in a series of stone laying and inaugural functions, including additional buildings of local
government colleges at Narsipatnam on Saturday, the Minister observed that the students will learn more knowledge if they were taken to the
rural areas. He said that the youngsters could educate the rural people in a systematic manner about the tips in keeping good health, drinking
water schemes, benefits of institutional deliveries, Swachh Bharat Mission, Clean and Green and Neeru-Chettu.

He asked the teachers to take the initiative of involving student community in rural-based programmes. Informing that the government has
sanctioned Rs 2 crore for the construction of an indoor stadium, Ayyanna Patrudu felt it would be more useful to the students if it was
constructed near the Government Degree College for Boys.

Earlier, he laid the foundation stones to the additional buildings for the Government Degree College for Boys to be built at a cost of Rs 2 crore,
additional buildings for the Government Junior College for girls at an estimated cost of Rs 95 lakh and inaugurated additional buildings built at
the Government Junior College for Boys at a cost of Rs 65 lakh.

Narsipatnam Municipal Vice-Chairman Ch Sanyasi Patrudu, RDO K Surya Rao, Executive Engineer V Adinarayana, College Principals K
Venkata Rao and S Kameswara Rao, RIO T Nagesh Kumar and Municipal Councilors were among those present on the occasion.
