Visakhapatnam: As part of its 40th Raising Day celebrations, the Indian Coast Guard organided ‘Special Coastal Clean-Up’ at Rushikonda
Beach here on Saturday. In all, 400 participants from various sections, including students from GITAM University, Coastal Security Police,
staff from various hotels and NCC Cadets participated in the event, along with officers, personnel and families of Indian Coast Guard.
Professor Dr T Byragi Reddy, head of department, environmental science, Andhra University, was the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion,
he lauded the efforts of Indian Coast Guard and said that conservation and preservation of coast line was essential to preserve marine flora
and fauna.
