Srikakulam: Religious fervour marked Ratha Sapthami festival at Arasavalli Sun God temple in Srikakulam on Friday.
Visakhapatnam Sarada Peetham pontiff Sri Swaroopanandedra Swamy performed Ksheerabhishekham on Thursday midnight. Devotees had Nijarupa darshan of the temple shrine till 4 pm in the evening without any decoration to the temple deity.
Police made elaborate arrangements with 750 policemen, including five DSPs. Thirty two CCTV cameras were installed in and around the temple.
Minister K Atchannaidu, Government Whip Kuna Ravi Kumar, MP K Rammohan Naidu, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Ch Dhanalakshmi had darshan of God.
Endowments deputy commissioner NVSN Murthy, assistant commissioner V Shyamaladevi supervised the arrangements.
Srikakulam municipal commissioner P A Shoba conducted frequent visits at all points as she was special officer for the festival. SP J.Brahma Reddy interacted with devotees on arrangements.
