Inter-house basketball tourney held at Kalikiri Sainik School

Kalikiri (Chittoor): The newly inaugurated basketball court of Sainik School here witnessed great joy and encouragement during its first ever basketball championship on Saturday. The final of the maiden inter-house basketball tourney was graced by the Principal Wg. Cdr. VS Dangwal.

The four house teams Godavari, Krishna, Penna and Tungabhadra competed in the tournament with great passion for the reputation of their respective houses. Godavari and Tungabhadra showed their mettle to saunter their way into the finals. In the final, Godavari house has defeated Tungabhadra and won the inter-house basketball championship. In the overall results, Penna house secured fourth position, Krishna third, Tungabhadra second and the champion Godavari first. VS Dangwal, who was the chief guest, said that he was very much impressed with the skills displayed by the cadets.

He congratulated the participants and winners. Addressing the gathering after giving away the medals and merit certificates to the teams, the chief guest said that apart from the beauty of the game, the dynamics in the game of basketball very much correspond to what takes place in life. He said that the game offers the cadets a myriad range of life skills to learn apart from instilling among them sportsmanship and shaping out into a perfect blend of personality.
