Atmakur (Kurnool): Following the item ‘936-year-old sun temple lying in ruins’ published in The Hans India on Friday, Vedic Scholar Vishnuvardhanacharyulu along with representatives of VHP and Bajrang Dal visited the Surya Temple in Nallamala on Friday itself.

The Vedic Scholar examined the construction and vastu of the temple tank. He said Badami Chalukyas used to be devotees of Lord Vishnu.

Getting involved in construction of Surya Devalayam, they turned their complete devotion towards Lord Shiva. “It is evident that there are several entry points to the tank.

It is also evident that Sri-Chakra had been installed deep under the water. This Sri-Chakra could be the rarest one,” he added. He said the temple had the history equal to that of Konark Temple.

Experts and researchers should make a study. World heritage could come to light if Archaeological department intervenes. Members of VHP and Bajrang Dal
performed poojas at the temple.
