YSRCP seeks action against TDP workers

Anantapur: The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) workers went in a procession to the local SP's office and submitted a memorandum to the SP Rajasekhar Babu urging his intervention in connection with an incident of attack by TDP workers on a hapless woman in Jallepalli village on Friday night.

Uravakonda MLA Vishweshwar Reddy, former MLA Gurunath Reddy and former MP Anantha Venkatarama Reddy told the SP that the attackers on the woman were brought to the police station and were let off after questioning them.

However, the SP informed the YSRCP leaders that a case was registered against the accused on a complaint filed by the victim and also a rowdy sheet was opened against the accused.

He also clarified that there was no political pressure of any kind on them. He promised action against the accused as per the law.
