Kakinada/ Eluru: Minister for Water Resources, Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao reiterated that all the irrigation projects under various stages now, will be completed on or before the year 2019.

These are Handri – Neeva, Gali – Nagari, Telugu Ganga by 2018 and the multipurpose Polavaram project by 2019. The TDP government is committed for completion of these projects despite several obstacles being created by political forces including YSRCP, the minister said.

Speaking to media persons at district TDP office on Tuesday, the Minister came down heavily on Y S Jagan and Botcha Satyanarayana for their comments on Pattiseema and Purushottapatnam lift irrigation projects.

Mounting severe attack on leader of the opposition, the Minister observed that the leader of opposition has no moral right to criticise the TD government.

He is accused number one in as many as 11 cases and was in jail for 16 long months. He should not forget that the ED confiscated properties worth Rs 43,000 crore acquired by corrupt practices under the shadow of his father, late YSR. The minister also reminded that Vijay Sai Reddy is number 2 accused in all these 11 cases.

He reminded that former Prime Minister Dr. Man Mohan Singh refused to comply with the recommendations of late YSR for appointing Vijay Sai as RBI director.

Turning his attention towards K. V.P. Ramachandra Rao and claiming him as inner soul of late YSR, the minister said that the RS member could not convince Dr Singh for inclusion of the seven mandals from Telangana, known as Polavaram submerging mandals in to AP.

Now the same gentleman is making all sorts of allegations on TDP government, the minister said. Devineni recalled that after coming to power the TD government impressed upon the Modi government for inclusion of these mandals in to AP and then only Chandrababu Naidu took the oath as chief minister.

This is the commitment of our government for Polavaram, he said. Commenting on Y S Jagan’s warning to police force, the water resources minister said that the leader of opposition is day dreaming of coming to power.

The police perform their duties as per the law and it is most undemocratic to give warnings. In this connection, the minister said that he too went to jail on issues related to public and not like Jagan on corruption issues, relating to hundreds of crores.

Meanwhile at Eluru, Uma Maheswara Rao said that a special website will be created with the complete information of Irrigation projects and water resources in the state.

He was participating as the chief guest in the concluding session of district Irrigation advanced plan workshop organised by Water Resources department under Neeru- Pragathi programme at Sir CR Reddy College on Tuesday night.
