Following this, the Penamaluru police arrested the accused.

According to police, the victim had sent a complaint of harassment to city police commissioner on February 2 from Louisville of Kentucky in USA.

She hails from Penamaluru of Vijayawada and got married 15 years ago and living in the US for the past 10 years. She has been reportedly facing harassment through Whatsapp and email from the accused since four years.

Vijay Krishna was allegedly threatening her with photos and video clips that were taken before her marriage.

They both belong to Penamaluru and residing nearby where their family members also close acquaintances. Both the accused and victim are acquaintances before the victim's marriage.

The accused was now harassing her with the photographs that they had clicked when they were together saying that he will show the photographs and videos to the victim's husband.

To protect her marriage and extreme torture of the accused, she had sent a mail of complaint to City Police Commissioner Gautam Sawang. Later, on confirmation about genuinity of the complainant, Sawang instructed the Penamaluru police to investigate the case.

The police confirmed the role of the accused in harassment. In a fit of rage and to extort the women, Vijay Krishna collected phone number and email ID of the woman and started sending messages and comments to the victim asking her to leave her husband and get married to him.

Police conducted a raid on the residence of Vijay Krishna in Penamaluru and seized mobile phones, computer, hard disks and other electronic devices. They have found more than 500 pictures.
