Upgraded website, FB page of city police launched

Vijayawada: DGP N Sambasiva Rao launched refurbished and upgraded website and social media page of Vijayawada city police here on Thursday.

The DGP, along with City Police Commissioner D Gautam Sawang, DCP GVG Ashok Kumar, ACP K Sravani, launched the city police website (www.vijayawadapolice.ap.gov.in) and FaceBook page at the DCP office.

Speaking to media persons on the occasion, the DGP said that the website and the social media platform (FaceBook page) would enable the citizens to interface and connect with the police in a more seamless and interactive manner.

He said the new website is technically advanced, user friendly and the content management is also simple.

City Police Commissioner Gautam Sawang said that the website offers many services to the citizens, including locating the police station, knowing the FIR case status, passport verification status and petition status.

He said that the website also gives information about the various initiatives taken up by the Vijayawada city police apart from that useful information to the various sections of the people, including NRIs, foreigners, women and children.

Police station contact details and jurisdiction are also demarcated enabling one to get clarity on jurisdiction of the police stations, he said.
