Chittoor: National sub-junior Wrestling Championship competitions would be held from February 10 to 12 here in which sportsmen from 27 States would take part, said M Chandrasekhar, president, District Olympic Association.

The competitions would be held at Chittoor Sports Stadium in which 260 sportsmen would participate, he added. Addressing media persons, here on Thursday, he said the event would be very significant at National level and the winners of Olympic games would attend the competitions as chief guests.
He said that 20 men and 10 girls from the district would participate in two-day programme. As there was election code of Legislative Council, both Central and State Ministers could not attend for the inaugural function, he added.
However, exuded confidence that the winners in the wrestling championship would given the prizes accordingly who are believed to stake their claim at National-level games.
R K Purushottam, Organising Secretary, N P Jayaprakash Naidu, K Padmanabham,,Y V Siva Kumar, the organizers and four coaches of the event were present.
