Nellore: There has been a deadlock over selection of a candidate from the ruling TDP for the ensuing local bodies constituency MLC election as three people are competing for the seat.

The party high-command is yet to arrive at any conclusion and has been delaying the announcement.

In fact, MLC V Narayana Reddy who shifted his loyalties from the Congress to the TDP, is hoping that he would be given another opportunity to contest the MLC polls.

Though he was representing the Congress, he had extended support to the TDP candidate during the election to the Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Council as he had planned to secure the ruling party ticket for MLC polls.

But, two other candidates, former Minister Adala Prabhakar Reddy and former MLA Anam Vivekananda Reddy, are also aspiring to secure the MLC seat.

If the party’s decision on the polls is not acceptable to any of the two leaders there would be possible non-cooperation from them which may not be beneficial to the party at a cruicial time.

The TDP had bagged only Kovur, Venkatagiri and Udayagiri seats in the district during 2014 elections and YSRCP won 7 Assembly seats and one MP seat.
