Kurnool: District Collector Ch Vijay Mohan directed the officials concerned to ensure facilities to the devotees visiting Srisailam on the occasion of Maha Sivaratri on February 24.

He along with Superintendent of Police Ake Ravi Krishna held a review meeting with the district officials on the arrangements of Sivaratri Brahmotsavams at Srisailam Administrative Building on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Vijay Mohan said officials should ensure all arrangements so that no devotee should face problems as they come from faraway places.

Asked officials to make arrangements for boarding, toilets, bathing, sanitation, roads, electricity, bus, first aid and drinking water facilities at the temple premises and expedite pending works, if any.

He also directed the Roads and Buildings (R&B) officials to paint zebra lines near the speed breakers so that the drivers can locate them easily. He also directed the District Medical and Health Officer to facilitate a temporary medical camp with 30 beds and emergency medication to the devotees who come by walk.

The devotees from neighbouring States would be visiting Srisailam, with regard to the number of devotees, he ordered the regional managers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to arrange buses accordingly.

Collector also advised the officials to illuminate the entire temple so that the entire atmosphere should depict a festive atmosphere.

Superintendent of Police Ake Ravi Krishna said around 2,000 police personnel would be deployed for Shivarathri bandobast.

For controlling the traffic, he said a combined control room would be set up at the premises and will be functioning round-the-clock. He said the police will swing into action once they receive a complaint on missing child or accidents.
