Since election schedule of Teachers Legislative Constituency and Graduates Legislative Constituency has been declared by the Election Commission, the district officers should strictly follow the code of conduct strictly, he added.

Addressing the district officers at a meeting held at Collectorate on Friday, Jain explained the salient features of election and instructed the officers concerned to be very attentive and responsive.

“Notification of the elections will be issued on February 13 and nominations will be accepted on the same day for candidates contesting from Chittoor, Prakasam, Nellore districts at Chittoor Collectorate between 11 am and 3 pm” he added.

All forms relating to the elections are available with the District Revenue Officer, Chittoor. Those who have any sort of complaints , a toll free No.08572-242744 would be set up with immediate effect, he added.

Jain further said that expenditure and monitoring teams are to be constituted shortly and the officials concerned should keep a special watch on the proposed arrangements at polling stations.

Nodal officers would be appointed for each relevant subject of the elections while serious attention should be paid for arranging the vehicles to the election observers, Polling officers and sectoral officers.

Electoral rolls should be sent to the respective polling station as per the prescribed schedule the District Collector added. Joint Collector P S Girisha, Joint Collector 2 P Venkatasubba Reddy, District Revenue Officer Ragia Begam, DRDA Project Director Ravi Prakash Reddy, District Panchayat officer Prabhakara Rao and other officers were present.

Addressing media persons, district collector assured that media coordinating committee would be appointed shortly in order to ensure the developments and the progress of electioneering process.
