Bhimavaram: Dr CV Rao, Scientist of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Head of the National Remote Sensing Centre (G and SP) said that the ISRO has decided to launch a record 104 satellites, including 101 foreign satellites from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh, to tell the world about the India's technological skills.

He was inaugurating the two-day TRANS-2017 National-level Student’s Symposium organised by Electronic and Communication Engineering (ECE) wing at SRKR Engineering College, Bhimavaram on Thursday. ECE wing head PV Ramaraju presided over the inaugural programme.

Addressing the meeting, Dr CV Rao said that the new satellites will send the images with 60 centimetres resolution from the space to earth. The AutoSat 2S satellite will assist to prepare a plan for the development of towns in the State and country.

Another satellite, the Resources will give the agriculture information like drought conditions, water resources completely. The Oceansat satellite will send the information to study about the surface of the sea.

Besides this, it will also work better by sending lower resolution information during Tsunamis and Cyclones to observe their movements.

He suggested the students take up research for the needs of the society and released the souvenir of the Trans Symposium on the occasion.

Later, the College Chairman Gokaraju Murali Rangaraju, Director Sagi Vithal Rangaraju felicitated Dr CV Rao. Vice Principal KVSN Rau, senior Professor N Venkateswara Rao, Y Rama Lakshman, KNV Suresh Varma, KNV Satyanarayana also participated.
