Visakhapatnam: The local police on Saturday arrested a wanted burglar Kosaraju Narasimha Rao (42), who, along with his wife Yendeti Ganga, committed 48 property offences in Vizag and East Godavari districts. The police recovered 605 grams of gold ornaments and one car from him and they are in the process of recovering over one kg gold from the couple.

DCP (Crime) T Ravi Kumar Murthy said that Narasimha Rao is a native of Eluru in West Godavari district and a school dropout. In search of livelihood, Rao came to Vizag city in 2002 and worked at Century Club in the city.

When he was a tenant in Yendeti Ganga’s house in Vizag city he developed an affair with her after Ganga’s second husband died. Eventually they got married. They have a girl child

The couple began committing property offences and also involved in Immoral Trafficking of Women to lead a lavish life. As Vizag police had curtailed the illegal activities of Rao and Ganga, they moved to Kakinada and resumed their crime.

In all, they committed over 48 property offences during the past two years.
The DCP said Rao and Ganga would first conduct recce of the houses prowling in a car and locate locked houses.

Later in the night, they break open the locks using mini crowbars and then flee with the stolen items. The couple, along with a few others had stolen 3,370 gm gold and some cash in the 48 offences.

The police earlier arrested Ganga in January this year and recovered 500 gms gold and now Rao was arrested in Rajahmundry and they recovered 605 gms gold jewellery from him.
