​Vijayawada: Civil Supplies Minister Paritala Sunitha said women means power and they should overcome the problems boldly and courageously. She said women could run society better than men if they were given a an opportunity and respect.

Addressing the delegates on the concluding day of the three-day National Women's Parliament, Sunitha felt woman herself means power and need to motivate themselves.

“No doubt, women have been facing several problems since ages and this is a unique and first platform to discuss women’s issues and find solutions to overcome them while expressing opinion on NWP, she stated. “If women are given the same honour and dignity in society like men, they will run the society better than men,” she observed.

She said it is wrong on the part of the woman to expect a man to build the world she wants, rather than creating it herself. Later, Padma Vibhushan awardee and acclaimed classical dancer Sonal Mansingh in her address said that believes that a woman or a girl should have passion to achieve her goal.

“I ran away from home in Mumbai to Bengaluru when my grandfather was a governor, because of my passion for dance. I learnt the nuances and there was no looking back ever since,” she added.
