The company will develop the initiative as an incubation centre for producing IT professionals with hands-on-experience. It is expected to commence its operations from June, according to an official source from Microsoft.

The source said around 20-30 IT companies offered to establish their front offices in Mangalagiri area even as the AP NRT (Non Resident Telugus), an official agency of the state government, has been entrusted to act as a facilitator for securing space with 1 lakh sft to set the ball rolling, said APNRT chief co-ordinator K Buchiram.

As part of the endeavour, the government is planning to hold an awareness programme involving 3,000 students at Ibrahimpatnam in next couple of days on the opportunities being made available for growth of IT industry in the capital.

It is being planned to give a similar boost to IT in Visakhapatnam also, the NRT official said. Besides, the government is also proposing to establish skill development corporation at Mangalagiri to extend cutting-edge knowledge to the prospective workforce.

Official sources said the government is preparing ground to promote coaching avenues for the aspirants of government services at Mangalagiri.

It may be recalled that hundreds candidates from the successor state are heavily depending on Hyderabad for coaching services and the move is intended to make available the opportunities within the reach.
