NWP a grand success, asserts Kodela
Describing the first ever National Women’s Parliament (NWP) as a grand success, State Assembly Speaker Dr Kodela Sivaprasada Rao said that more than 22,000 delegates, of which 60 per cent were girl students, attended the event, as against the expected 12,000 participants.
Vijayawada: Describing the first ever National Women’s Parliament (NWP) as a grand success, State Assembly Speaker Dr Kodela Sivaprasada Rao said that more than 22,000 delegates, of which 60 per cent were girl students, attended the event, as against the expected 12,000 participants.
Addressing the mediapersons at the media point on the concluding day of NWP, he said that the girl students gained rich knowledge after hearing the experiences of eminent personalities, who reached heights in their fields after facing lot of sufferings. Young students also spoke about their experiences and about their future, he said.
A number of issues were raised and discussed, with even students interacting with the members, he said. The NWP, which was hosted by the AP government, organised by the AP State Assembly and supported by MIT Group of Educational Institutions, Pune, is just a beginning and it will extend to all parts of the country, he hoped.
