Vijayawada: Thousands of girl students participated in the three day National Women Parliament organised by the State government at Pavithra Sangamam, Ibrahimpatnam were disappointed as the participation certificates were not handed over at the venue on the final day (Sunday).

More than 10,000 girl students of Engineering, Arts, Science and other courses attended the three-day National Women’s Parliament. Earlier, the organisers announced that participation certificates would be handed over on the last day at the venue.

Students who came from other districts expressed ire against the organisers saying they had hoped to get it on the last day to show their family members as the proof of their participation. A young girl who came from Guntur district said it is the duty of the organisers to fulfil their promise.

However, Krishna District Joint Collector Gandham Chendrudu said that the participants would get the participation certificates through mail later.

The students were upset and angrily argued with the Joint Collector. The students said that the original certificate was given to some students and most of them were asked to take out the print out from the mail.
