The State government has sanctioned Rs 8.81 crore to reconstruct the breach which occurred to bank of Polavaram Right Main Canal (PRMC) at the Ramileru rivulet under tunnel near Pallerlamudi in Naziveedu mandal of Krishna district when the water was released from Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Scheme into Prakasam Barrage on August 1, 2016.

​Vijayawada: The State government has sanctioned Rs 8.81 crore to reconstruct the breach which occurred to bank of Polavaram Right Main Canal (PRMC) at the Ramileru rivulet under tunnel near Pallerlamudi in Naziveedu mandal of Krishna district when the water was released from Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Scheme into Prakasam Barrage on August 1, 2016.

Secretary to government (Irrigation department) Shashi Bhushan Kumar issued orders on Monday sanctioning Rs 8.81 crore to reconstruct the breach to PRMC.

As per statement of engineer-in chief of Polavaram irrigation project, the breach was suspected due to meddling by some people.

After receding of water it was observed that a deep scour had occurred in natural ground up to 8 mts below the canal bed level.

The cement concrete apron constructed downstream of barrel portion was settled and completely damaged.
