Urban SP M Jayalakshmi participated as a chief guest for the national seminar began at Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV) in Tirupati on Friday. The seminar was sponsored by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Addressing the delegates, the SP said that the adolescent stage is crucial in everyone’s life. She advised the students not to do anything which they cannot discuss with their parents.

Everyone should have a proper future plan and should know that love is a part of life and not that is the only life.

Delivering the key note address, Dr Renu Singh of Young Lives India said that adolescence starts at the time of puberty especially in girls where lot of changes take place in physical body and at emotional-level.

Access to right services will make a lot of difference in the lives of adolescent girls. Prof DB Krishna Kumari, who presided over the session, said that girls face social constraints once they enter adolescent stage.

SPMVV Rector Prof V Uma observed that boys at the adolescent age should be addressed. Prof I V Lalitha Kumari explained the objective of the seminar while Prof K Anuradha has introduced the
dignitaries.
