Hyderabad/Nellore: South Central Railway General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav undertook intensive inspection of Tenali-Gudur section on Vijayawada division on Friday.

Vijayawada Divisional Railway Manager Ashok Kumar accompanied him. He observed conditions on the railway platforms and announced an award of Rs 20,000 to Britagunta station for cleanliness as an encouragement.
Vinod Kumar along with principal Heads of Departments began his inspection from Tenali railway station. He inspected the railway station, circulating area, booking office, health unit and railway colony also.
As a part of amenities, the GM inaugurated water supply arrangements for station and railway colony besides inaugurating electrical switch room at the
station.
At Nidubrolu station, Vinod inaugurated the new station building and planted a tree sapling in the station premises. At Ongole railway station, he thoroughly inspected the entire premises including general waiting halls, food stalls etc.
The GM also interacted with Gang Unit and stressed their responsibility of safeguarding the rail tracks. He advised them to be on high alert in their duties and immediately inform their supervisors in case of any unusual occurrences found in course of their work.
Later, Vinod Kumar inspected Traction Sub-Station and inaugurated a children park and planted tree saplings at Bitragunta as part of green initiative. He also inspected the Crew Booking Lobby, Accident Relief Train and Medical Relief Vehicle.
En route the entire journey, the General Manager conducted rear window inspection of the section. He inspected curves and points and conducted speed test and halted at manned level crossing gate and observed the standard proceedings being followed to ensure safe passage of trains and road commuters.
Mid-Section, the General Manager conducted inspection of a minor bridge and a major bridge to examine the safety measures. Vinod Kumar Yadav met several public representatives, members of trade and commerce, unions and rail user associations etc., and received representations on public demands regarding amenities, services etc.,
South Central Circle Commissioner Railway Safety Ram Kripal, Principal Chief Engineer S N Singh and other senior officials were present.
