Vizianagaram: General Manger of East Coast Railway Umesh Singh carried out inspection in Rayagada-Vizianagaram-Visakhapatnam section of Waltair Division on Friday.

Divisional Railway Manager Chandralekha Mukherjee accompanied during the inspection. The major thrust is being given to passenger amenities, cleanliness, maintenance and safety.

Starting with Rayagada railway station, he went to running room, visited crew lobby, inspected accident relief train, checked passenger amenities and commissioned dedicated water supply to the railway station and colony.

Rajya Sabha MP N Bhaskara Roa met the General Manager at Rayagada railway station. After Rayagada railway station, the General Manager inspected the track (curve) in the mid section and interacted with the gangmen there at the site between Ladda and Jimidipeta.

Then, he inspected Parvatipuram railway station and inaugurated Parvatipuram Adarsh railway station. Furthermore, he inspected major bridge between Bobbili and Donkinavalasa.

Later, he viewed Gajapathinagaram station, staff quarters, yard points and crossings. Safety is being the major concern, he carried out inspection of unmanned level crossing between Garudabili and Gotlam and manned level crossing between Gotlam and Vizianagaram and interacted with the gangmen.

In Vizianagaram, he thoroughly checked health unit, OHE depot, route relay inter-locking facility and Vizianagaram railway station.

Continuing the inspection, the General Manager inspected Kottavalasa railway station where he inspected railway colony and commissioned integrated water supply system.
