Inkollu (Prakasam district): The ISRO Associate Director Muppalla Nageswara Rao announced that the Indian Space Research Organization has created a history by sending 104 satellites into orbit in a single mission.

He came to his native village Bodawada in Parchur mandal along with his colleagues in the space operation and participated in a felicitation programme by Adarsha High School in Inkollu on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Muppalla Nageswara Rao said that it was a moment of pride for being part of a team that is creating history in the world of space research.

He recollected the days of his childhood born in a poor farmer family at Bodawada, his thirst for education and how his inclination towards science helped him become a scientist in ISRO.

He said that engineering and medicine are not sufficient education and asked the teachers to ignite the thought making process in the children and let them find the answers for themselves than trying to fit all students in a specific mould of marks and grades.

He interacted with the students and answered a number of questions about space, ISRO, satellites and science and told them to keep self confidence to achieve anything they wanted to.

The Adarsha High School secretary and correspondent Thotakura Vijaya Bhaskar, Suneetha, MEO G Haribabu, local journalists, Rotary club members and other dignitaries felicitated Nageswara Rao, Casimo Rusconi, Oscar Gargiulo and Stephan Oleschko from Austria and colleagues of Nageswara Rao in the PSLV 37 launch mission.
