35 candidates in MLC poll fray

Vizianagaram: In all, 35 candidates filed their nominations for north Andhra Graduates MLC constituency polls at the end of filing of nomination papers on Monday.

Out of 35, only three of them are from various political parties and remaining are independents. P V N Madhav is contesting on behalf of TDP and BJP, Y Adi Raju is contesting from Congress and Aja Sharma is contesting with the support of Left parties.

But for the first time, a journalist Ramana Murthy is in the race and wants to test his fortune. Ramana Murthy is running a newspaper Leader and is popular with the name Leader Ramana Murthy. Journalist Unions are supporting him and he is urging the graduates to vote for him.

Backwardness focal point during campaign
Srikakulam: Candidates, who are contesting in MLC elections from north Andhra graduates constituency, are raising about the backwardness of the region in their campaign.

Nominations process for MLC elections was ended on February 20. In all, 34 candidates filed their nominations from three districts and out of them, 29 nominations were accepted on Tuesday after scrutiny. Candidates, who are contesting from Srikakulam as independent candidates, are Chintada Ravi Kumar and Geddapu Sri Krishna Prasad.

Ravi Kumar is working as a professor in a private engineering college in Srikakulam district and Sri Krishna Prasad is an advocate at the district court in Srikakulam.

They are explaining that lack of proper irrigation facilities and industries in the district leading to migration of both skilled and unskilled workers to other regions in the state and across the country.

Therefore, there are asking the voters to elect an able nominee who cannot fight for the development of the region.
