Vijayawada: Krishna district Zilla Parishad chairperson Gadde Anuradha and Zilla Parishad chairman of West Godavari district M Bapi Raju on Tuesday distributed Coromandel Educational Scholarships to girls students belonging to Krishna and West Godavari districts at Makineni Basava Punnaiah Vignana Kendram (MBVK) in the city on Tuesday. Scholarships worth Rs 8.50 lakh were distributed to 200 students.

Scholarships of Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,500 were distributed to those girl students, who secured first and second ranks respectively in Class IX from Zilla Parishad High Schools located in rural areas in Krishna and West Godavari districts, and currently studying Class X .

The Coromandel Company has selected 100 students from 50 Zilla Parishad schools in respective districts as Corporate Responsibility Service (CSR).

Speaking on the occasion, Krishna Zilla Parishad chairperson Anuradha said that much more corporate companies would come forward and encourage girl students, especially in rural areas.

Rural area girl students could not go to higher studies due to lack of certain education facilities, she felt. Within the support of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, the district administration is implementing so many programmes for girl students, she added.

She has given a call to all girl students to work hard to reach their goal. Girl students can become successful as doctors, engineers, teachers, lawyers and politicians also.

West Godavari Zilla Parishad chairman M Bapi Raju said that he is developing all the Zilla Parishad schools in his district with the support of alumni.
