Chirala: The Saptavarna-17, a national-level technical, cultural and sports meet, concluded at Chirala Engineering College on Thursday. Tollywood actor Brahmanandam and JNTU Kakinada Vice-Chancellor VSS Kumar were the chief guests. Brahmanandam shared his experiences as a teacher and actor.

VSS Kumar attended the paper presentation session and asked the students to be proficient with technology and should learn to create apps on their own. Brahmanandam said that he is happy to meet more than a thousand students at Saptavarna. He asked the students not to resort to ragging and ruin their future. Acted in more than 1,080 movies, the comedy actor recalled his experience as a Telugu lecturer.

He asked the students not to neglect the mother tongue in the fancy for foreign languages. The folk, classical and western dance performances by students from various departments enthralled the audience. College committee president K Naga Malleswara Rao, vice-president P Sambasiva Rao, secretary Tella Ashok Kumar, principal Syed Kamaluddin and students and staff from various departments attended the programme.
