Atmakur (Kurnool): The celestial wedding of Goddess Lalita with God Sangameswar at Sngaameswara temple, located at the confluence of seven rivers in Atmakur revenue division of Kurnool district, was held on Saturday bringing curtains down on the two-day Sivarathri celebrations.

During the celebrations over one lakh devotees, including those from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Telangana states and Rayalaseema region, thronged the temple for the festival. Over one lakh took a holy dip in the confluence of seven rivers.

The celestial wedding was conducted by the temple priest Telakapalli Raghurama Sarma as per the rituals. It was held in Abhijit lagna. Earlier, the deities were given a holy both drawing water from the confluence of the rivers.

Later, the deities were taken to the flower bedecked Rudraksha mantap. The Vedic scholars tied the knot to the Goddess on behalf of Lord Sangameshwar. Afterwards, the ritual of Talambralu Mahotsavam was conducted.

Devotees thronged the temple for the occasion had a darshan of Vepadaru Siva Lingam.
