Amaravati: For the first time in the AP Assembly history, new technology system, based on the Parliament model has been introduced in the construction of AP Assembly. The electronic voting system and translation technology mike system too have been provided for members of the AP Assembly.

As per the system, the number of members can be counted during voting with technology support by displaying their voting choices on display board while marking their sitting location. Similarly, the members who speak in any language can be translated into Telugu automatically and the other members can listen in Telugu language with the support of Parliament model technology. Actually the technology support facilities are yet to be tested but it can be done before the Assembly session, said Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) commissioner Ch Sridhar.

On the other hand, according to an L & T engineer, the government has introduced new mike technology by fixing the system to the members’ tables, with the members not having any chance to take it into their hands. The voice of the members can be received and transferred to other members. The mike system has been totally fixed to walls, roof and tables.

The Opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy has got a spacious chamber in the Assembly building premises. The government has decided to provide big chamber for the Opposition leader with all the facilities at the centre point of Assembly Hall and Legislative Council.

It may be noted that the Opposition MLAs team recently visited the Assembly building and found fault with the government over the allocation of a small chamber. Now the government has made some changes by allotting new space. Off course, still the chamber is under construction. Legislative Affairs Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said that the government would follow procedures by respecting all the members.
