Addressing a meeting after inaugurating new Assembly building at Velgapudi, here on Thursday, he expressed joy that new legislations can be passed from AP’s soil. Reiterating his desire to make State the best performing State in the country, the Chief Minister promised to give priority for poor from upper castes in the coming budget.
“The government is implementing various welfare schemes, including paying scholarships for students. Similarly, priority would be given in the budget for poor in upper castes. People should not be face problems for being poor,” he said. Terming the Assembly building construction as history, he recalled bifurcation of State and said that it was unscientific. He asked people to not forget the injustice meted out to them.
Taking shots at Opposition YSRCP, Naidu accused the party of creating hurdles and stalling development. “Why are the Opposition leaders worried over land pooling scheme, when the farmers of capital region, voluntarily parted with their lands for capital construction,” he questioned.
Extolling the achievement of the government, he said that despite having a deficit of Rs 16,000 crore, we had waived of loans in line with poll promise and introduced many development schemes. “The State has won several awards for best performance in various sectors. It can register double digit growth in next year as well,” he averred.
The Chief Minister asserted that the government would fulfill all promises. “Amaravati will be a green and economic capital. We will complete the internal road projects along with express highway from Bengaluru to Amaravati,” he informed.
Reacting to hate crime in the USA and travails of NRIs, Naidu hoped that the Prime Minster would take necessary steps. Union Minister P Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao, Legislative Council chairman Chakrapani, Chief Secretary Ajeya Kallam, and others present.
