Police officials are making elaborate security arrangements for Assembly Budget sessions set to begin from March 6 at Velgapudi complex in the state. To avoid any inconvenience to the VVIPs, VIPs attending the Assembly and Legislative Council meeting, the police officials set up six ways to the Velagapudi from the highway. 

​Guntur: Police officials are making elaborate security arrangements for Assembly Budget sessions set to begin from March 6 at Velgapudi complex in the state. To avoid any inconvenience to the VVIPs, VIPs attending the Assembly and Legislative Council meeting, the police officials set up six ways to the Velagapudi from the highway.

They have set up checkposts on each way and in-charge officers have been appointed for each gate. Security officers on-duty and police officials will take all the steps to avoid untoward incidents. Bomb detection squad, dog squad, anti-naxal squad, quick response teams, will step up vigilance on the movements of the strangers.

According to South Coastal Zone Guntur range Inspector General of Police, N Sanjay, a separate route was allotted for Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and his convoy. “CM convoy will pass through Venkatapalem, Mandadam and reach temporary Secretariat at Velagapudi,’ he added.

Chief Minister, Assembly Speaker and Legislative Council chairman will be allowed through gate no.1, while Ministers will be allowed through gate no:2 and media and visitors will be allowed through gate no:3, MLAs and MLCs will be allowed through gate no: 4. The officials have set up parking place for vehicles in five acres of land and a control desk was also readied.

N Sanjay, Guntur rural S P Narayan Naik visited Velagapudi and reviewed security arrangements for Assembly and Council meetings and suggested few measures for police officials. Additional forces would be deployed to provide security and maintain law and order. Guntur rural and Guntur Urban will make security arrangements for Assembly sessions.
