Amaravati: All set for the maiden session of the state Assembly from AP's soil on Monday at Velagapudi in Amaravati. According to officials, the Assembly will start with the Governor's speech at 11:06 am. No other business was listed for the day. BAC meeting on Tuesday will finalise the schedule of the session and there will be discussion on the Governor's speech.

The government has put in place high security arrangements by deploying 2,200 police personnel, including five SPs. The roads to the Assembly from Vijayawada and Guntur have been expanded for smooth vehicular passage.

According to officials, sitting facility for 231 members in the Assembly and 90 members in the Council has been provided keeping future requirements in view. There are five galleries with 60-member capacity has also been ready for visitors, officials and media personnel.

The total Assembly building has one lakh square feet space and parking facility has been provided in the five-acre area.Besides, the Assembly has been equipped with the high-tech mike system (it is fixed to table in flat and not possible to take the mike into hands by the members).

Likewise, electronic voting and language translation headphones system have also been arranged using the Parliament model technology. AP Interim Secretariat Complex Chief Security Officer Patil said only the vehicles of the ministers are allowed into the Assembly premises. All the MLAs should park their vehicles outside the building.

The whole premises of the Assembly and Secretariat Complex have been decorated and colourfully illuminated for the historic event.  Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao who is representing Guntur district, is in happy mood while comparing himself with Nallapati Venkatramaiah Chowdary, who also belonged to Guntur, was the first Speaker when Andhra Pradesh was carved out from the erstwhile Madras State. He said it is unique opportunity for him and feel proud to be the Speaker.
