Amaravati: The scenes at the new Assembly hall on the second day on Tuesday reflected the previous sessions held in Hyderabad with heated arguments between members of the YSRCP and the ruling TDP, counter criticism and making allegations against each other.

During the Question Hour, the opposition party members raised slogans and entered the Speaker's podium dissatisfied with the ruling party’s reply on BC sub-plan implementation and later staged a walk out. The YSR Congress strongly demanded that the government should announce the details of funds released under BC sub-plan and sought a reply from Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

YSR Congress legislators B Mutyalanaidu and Anil sought details of funds spent on BC sub plan. Speaking on the issue, Opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy said the government has spent only Rs 2,200 crore for BCs last year against the election promise made by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu that Rs 10,000 crore will be spent every year.

If the Chief Minister implemented his promise, the government should have released Rs 40,000 crore by now, he pointed out. The Opposition leader sought details of the total funds spent so far under the BC sub-plan. MLA Mutyala Naidu said the students have been facing problems as the government introduced some new procedures like Aadhaar card linkage, ration card linkage and submission of family certificates.

However, BC Welfare Minister Kollu Ravindra pointed out that there has been no delay in making fee reimbursement to students.

The payments are being made on time, he said. The government also introduced model schools for BC students. When Jagan tried to continue debate on the subject, the Speaker disallowed it. Immediately, the legislators of YSRCP went to the well and raised slogans by demanding that their leader should be allowed to speak. TDP MLA Anitha demanded an apology from Y S Jagan when he commented “Musti Vestunnara SC laku.”
