Vijayawada: YSRCP leader Velampalli Srinivas on Wednesday alleged that ruling party leaders were protecting the AgriGold management. "Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu must respond to the question of Y S Jagan on AgriGold scam in the Assembly and protect 40 lakh customers in eight states," he averred.

Velampalli Srinivas expressed solidarity to the AgriGold agents and customers who were continuing their relay fast for the last three days at Dharna Chowk.

Addressing the gathering, he said that YSRCP president Y S Jagan would question the State government in the Assembly regarding the scam and try to resolve long-pending woes of the victims. AITUC State general secretary G Obulesu who was also present at the relay fast camp, called upon all victims in other States to join the rally from Vijayawada to Velagapudi before completion of the Assembly session.

Later, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Pothina Venkata Rama Rao demanded an inquiry by Central Vigilance Commission inquire into the scam. CPM city secretary Donepudi Kasinath alleged that the government's adamant attitude in the scam was a cause for concern to nearly 40 lakh agents and customers.

Srikakulam and Chittoor district AG agents and customers participated in the relay hunger strike on 3 day at Dharna Chowk.

CPI leader and Agri Gold Customers and Agents Welfare Association honorary president M Nageswara Rao, president B Vishwanath Reddy and others also spoke at relay hunger strike camp.
