Vizianagaram: YSRCP leader and MP Vijay Sai Reddy appealed to the cadre to shun differences, leave egos and work together to ensure party’s victory in 2019 elections.

He participated in a district-level meeting with the leaders of all affiliated wings of the party, here on Saturday. “We need to strengthen the party from grass roots by filing all vacancies. Priority should be given to farmers, women and students.

We have given a representation to President Pranab Mukherji seeking implementation of reservations for women in Assembly and Lok Sabha elections,” he informed.

He stated that Assembly seats would likely be increased to 225. “We are expecting that the state will go to polls in 2018. We have to be prepared, should meet every person and should seek his support,” he averred.

Nagari MLA RK Roja called upon women to raise cudgels against Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to save themselves. “Harassments, assaults on women are increasing in the state. Naidu is protecting the jackals perpetrating crime against women. We should teach them a lesson,” he said.

She demanded the state government to allocate Rs10,000 crore for welfare of women and DWCRA schemes. Party north Andhra coordinator K Veerabhadra Swamy, district president B Chandrasekhar, MLA P Pushpa Srivani and others are also present.
