Amaravati: The people have elected the governments in five states which were working hard for their welfare, said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

Participating in a teleconference with Collectors and other officials from his residence at Undavalli here on Monday, he said the people voted for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his administration.

Recalling his interaction with deceased legislator Bhuma Nagi Reddy, he said the government should concentrate on the development of Nandyal town roads and drinking water facilities. He asked the officials to complete the Neeru-Pragathi works since only 15 days are remaining for the completion of the scheme. The officials were instructed to complete the cement roads works and NTR Housing Scheme targets immediately.

The CM asked the officials to utilise the scheme for resolving the problems of the people. The employees were also suggested to put in spirited work, since there is a vast difference between permanent and contract employees.

In another review meeting with officials on Polavaram project, the CM directed the officials to make the required heavy machinery available and questioned the officials for the delay of the same.

He said the construction company should take up the works with commitment. Water Resources Minister Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao Rao and several officials were also present.
