Vijayawada: Director of Government Examinations V S Bhargava on Wednesday said all arrangements have been made for the SSC exams scheduled to be held from March 17 to April 1.

“As many as 6,28,081 students, from 11,143 schools, will be appearing for the SSC examinations across the state. A total of 3,25,713 boys and 3,02,368 girl students, including SSC, OSSC (regular and private), and 19,015 vocational students will appear for the examinations. In all, 2,931 exam centres have been arranged for the purpose," he said.

Addressing a press conference here, Bhargava said the exams would be conducted in CCE (Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation) pattern this year and 20 per cent weightage would be given to internal marks and 80 per cent weightage would be given to subject papers.

“Hall-tickets and school-wise NRs have been sent to the schools. Centre-wise NRs have been sent to the examination centres,” he said.

The director of exams said district collectors had held meetings with APSRTC, medical and health, police and postal departments for proper coordination during the examinations. APSRTC will provide free transport to the students on showing the hall-tickets.

The DMHO will provide medical staff with medical kits to meet any eventuality of sunstroke. APTransco will provide uninterrupted power supply and Section 144 will be in force at all the exam centres. He said CC cameras have been installed at sensitive centres and 156 flying squads were being deployed in all the 13 districts.

"The students can see the allotted examination centre one day before to know the exact location. All the students must be at the exam centres by 8.45 am. They can carry writing pads, pens, pencils, erasers and scales,” he said. He advised the students to check the OMR and the main answer booklet before starting writing.

“Tie the additional answer sheets, graph and bit paper properly. Serial number of the main answer sheet shall invariably written on all the additional sheets, graph, map, and bit paper," he added.

He further said that no cell phones, calculators and any other electronic gadgets shall be allowed inside the examination centres.
