Amaravati: As the ruling TDP leaders have hailed the budget proposals for 2017-18 terming them as growth-oriented, Opposition parties slammed the budget proposals as juggling of numbers.

YSRCP termed the budget as hoodwinking the people with numbers magic. Party MLA RK Roja charged Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu with cheating 80 lakh members of the self help groups by allocating meager funds for SHGs loan waiver.

She also reminded that Naidu assured to deposit Rs 30,000 on the name of girl child and alleged that he deposited crores of rupees on his grandson name in the banks. “Atrocities on women increases after TDP came to power and loans doubled and touched Rs 1,80,000 crore,” she added.

Narasaraopet YSRCP MLA Gopireddy Srinivasa Reddy came down heavily on the TDP government for furnishing false information in the Assembly. He criticized that the government has no commitment to solve problems of the farmers.

YSRCP state trade cell chairman Atukuri Anjaneyulu also flayed the budget proposals. He said that the government did not allot sufficient funds for SHG women and farmers to waive their loans to keep up its election promise. He said the government did not take any steps to encourage entrepreneurs to set up industries.

CPI state joint secretary and AP Rytu Sangam leader Muppalla Nageswara Rao accused the government of lacking commitment to implement crop loan waiver scheme to make farmers debt-free. “Allocation of Rs 3,000 crore to waive crop loans is not enough,” he averred.

He reminded that the Chief Minister has announced to waive Rs. 24,000 crore crop loans and added that so far the government has waived loans worth Rs 11,000 crore. He criticised that the government did not take any steps to stop farmers' suicides and felt that Rs 1,000 crore is not sufficient to construct state capital.

Meanwhile, SC / ST Commission chairman Karem Sivaji hailed the budget and said the government has given top priority for SC and STs. He said the government has allocated Rs 3,487 crore SC sub-plan and Rs. 3,528 crore for ST sub-plan in the budget.

Minister for women welfare Peethala Sujatha also hailed the budget. She said the government has allocated funds to waive loans given to the SHGs. She said SHG women who availed bank loans will get relief soon.
