Polavaram funds flowing into CM-Lokesh kitty

Speaking at the media point in Assembly on Thursday, MLA Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy charged the TDP government with searching for income-generating works for party men every year. “In the first year the government took land pooling at Amaravati, later Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Scheme and now Polavaram project, he accused.
He commented that TDP MLAs and MPs competing with each other for securing several irrigation package works and are enhancing the estimations. “Polavaram project estimation cost increased from Rs 16,000 crore to Rs 45,000 crore and the state government allotted Rs.7,000 crore only. How can it complete the project before 2018,” Chevireddy sought to know.
He reminded that without Polavaram Right Main Canal (PRMC) there is no Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Scheme. Santhanuthalapadu MLA Suresh demanded that the Union government should take over the Polavaram project works and complete the project stipulated time. “The state government wants to construct the works for taking commissions from contractors,” he alleged.
Uravakonda MLA Visweswara Reddy said that TDP is also part in Union government, but the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu did not put pressure on Union government for Special Category Status and funds for Polavaram project.
The TDP legislators condemned the opposition party MLAs allegations on Polavaram project. MLAs Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary made it clear that Opposition parties have no interest in completing Polavaram project. “Completion of project means exit of YSRCP from state,” he averred.
